29 Jun LA MADONNA DELLO SPERONELLO
The statue of the Virgin arrives in Costa Smeralda in 2012 from the Lazio coast after a 300-kilometer journey in the waves. Due to a flood the statue detaches from the rock from which it overlooked the port of Montalto di Castro and after about 3 months it suddenly appears among the rocks of Porto Paglia, near the beach of the Grande Pevero. A few tens of meters ahead, and further down, the parish priest of Porto Cervo, Don Raimondo Satta, had immerged a statue depicting the Madonna of Stella Maris, a gift from the faithful.
Now the statue of the Virgin has returned home, in its place there is a copy that continues to be a call for the faithful who leave the votive offerings to honour it.
